Amphawa
Amphawa is a famous floating market in Thailand. This was my first time there.
I took a mini van from Victory monument and it took only 2 hrs to get there. I called in advance to book for a room at guest house near by the floating market. The room included breakfast. 1000 THB a night – not bad.
Amphawa is in Samut Songkram province and opens on weekends from mid-afternoon until dark. It’s full of local people in their rowboats selling fruits, vegetables and delicious local food, I love the fact that food is so great and affordable. ☺
I spent the night by walking around to take some photos, made a boat trip to see fireflies, and finally stopped at the bar for a drink before heading back to the guest house.
My second day I just took it easy. I started the day by having a massage and after that lunch at the restaurant near by the river. Food was nice and the view is wonderful.
Amphawa is such a nice place where you can find the real thai culture; how the people and the river live their life. The local food is so great ☺
Nice Photo 🙂
